Games and Learning Group

GLG is an interdisciplinary research group in the School of Digital Technologies at Tallinn University. Our research lies at the intersection between game design, game studies, and educational sciences. Key research areas include:

  • Game design for education and training
  • Applications of games in domains such as cybersecurity, politics, and environmental sustainability
  • Game design didactics and learning through game-making
  • Research through design and reflective game design practice

GLG researchers have worked on a variety of games, often as part of internationally-funded research and development projects and in collaboration with partners from both the public and private sector.

Many GLG members also teach in the Digital Learning Games MSc programme, as well as in undergraduate and continuing education courses.
